Psychotic Gardening: Humanitorium
10/10/11 || sly
Fortunately for me, the music isn’t half as stupid as the moniker. I can’t even begin to fathom how they were inspired to name their band thus. I know it’s pretty damn metal to plant your lettuce and tomatoes in the midst of winter, but I don’t know about psychotic. “Muahaha, I shall now plant these strawberries next to the broccoli!”
The sound is dark and doomy, mid-tempo death/black metal, with keyboards that give it slight industrial airs and strong Demon Burger vibes. It could be pleasing for those murky, algid souls (or me when I was seventeen). The song “Withering servant” is a prime example of the band’s keyboard-laced atmosphere, which may be intriguing for a total of two minutes before it turns boring.
I think Psychotic Gardening are trying to be just a bit too clever and unique for their own good. When the best part of a metal band is the keyboards, that might be saying something.

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
